What incentivised you to join SPENGA?
"In 2019, I split my left femur in half from a traumatic accident in Paris. Once recovered, I was only cleared to walk. I walked first with crutches, then onto walking 5 miles a day without crutches for months, hoping one day to be back at a gym. Once cleared for gym workouts... March 2020 arrived along with the lockdown. Around this time I noticed SPENGA advertisements around Downtown Danville. What is this SPENGA? For a few months I walked right on by those signs."
"A wonderful friend became a SPENGA instructor and encouraged me to try it out. At this point my workout confidence was low, my body was weak, though I started convincing myself you need this. When I discovered SPENGA has all 3 elements of what I love in a workout and a lovely boutique-style space, this made me feel that I was going to be in a safe space with no judgment."
"I joined in April 2021. This truly was a celebration for me. After 2 years from my accident, I was about to conquer what I thought could possibly be permanent limitations. There was a time my Orthopedic Surgeon told me I would have limited movement, flexibility and possibly limp forever. I recall telling him 'that will not be true for me in this lifetime,' unsure how I was going to make this happen. But, the SPENGA WERKout has allowed me to regain all my flexibility, strength in my left leg and everywhere else in my body. I have crushed the early goals I set and each day I set new goals to crush for my daily WERKouts! If my Ortho could see me now!"
What is your favorite SPENGA memory?
"I dreamed of something like SPENGA for years. Not really knowing the details or what it would be or look like, just the idea of a combined, well-rounded mind, body, wellness program.
Every time I walk into SPENGA is my favorite part. I am excited that I get to be part of a WERKout that encourages me to be proud of what my body can achieve. This is exactly what I always thought a WERKout could be and is!"
"I adore the instructors and my WERKout crew! We encourage each other, celebrate our results, and cheer each other on in our goals!"
"I love when an instructor says "try a heavier weight, or add on an additional movement", even if I am unsure, this gives me incentive to try a few reps with a heavier weight or push my goal when I realize that it is possible. Each instructor brings their own dynamic and intensity, which enlightens and elevates each class with their own individual style!"
"The morning WERKout crew I am so lucky to share an hour with is wonderful, kind and festive! We all share a space that allows us to be who we are, share part of our lives, exercise to great music and laugh along the way."
"I WERKout 5 days a week, as this is healing for my body, strength, health, endurance, mental wellness and happiness! I encourage anyone to convince themselves, no matter how hard it looks, it front of you to find the path to exercise!"
