Member Spotlight: Ian and Janet C.
When Ian and Janet Collier came to our PreSales outdoor sessions at Beyond Active, we had no idea their degree of devotion. We thought, "well, here's a very nice British couple who has signed up for our Founding Membership and seems interested in exploring a new workout."
Fast forward to now.
Ian is a regular fixture at our studio. I think members often mistake him for staff. He was the first member to hit 100 AND 250 Days of WERK. On April Fool's Day we set his sweet spot to 600, because we knew he'd love a good joke.
Janet is a close second with her session attendance. She's our third member to hit 250 Days of WERK. Our first female finisher for our Century Ride Challenge (she finished 4th in our studio and Ian finished 2nd in our studio and 8th in the country)!
We nicknamed Ian and Janet, SPENGA Danville's Couple of the CENTURY!
Ian hit 365 sessions 2 days before our 1 year anniversary (those soft opening sessions gave him a boost!).
Here's what they have to share about their SPENGA experience:
Question 1: What incentivized you to join SPENGA?
We both belonged to a gym that closed, and after that we never found anywhere that offered classes we both liked with the convenience of being just a few minutes from home. SPENGA has the perfect balance of cardio, strength and stretching which nobody else seems to offer. Once we tried the classes at Beyond Active before the studio opened, we were hooked!
Question 2: What's your favorite part about SPENGA? This can include memories of your experience, how you feel during your favorite modality, feelings on how an instructor has made an impact on you, anything you'd like to share with us about why you love SPENGA?
SPENGA has a unique vibe that you don't get at the big health clubs. Everyone knows your name and takes the time to chat with you; the members are friendly and the instructors engage with you on a personal level. It really feels like family. We love how the classes are different every time we go, even though we're there almost every day.
Question 3: What is your fitness goal that you want SPENGA to help you achieve?
We have a nine year old daughter, and so we both want to be our fittest, healthiest selves, as older parents, so that we can keep up with her! We know it's important to build and maintain muscle tone as we age, and with COVID putting a stop to our activities for the best part of a year we're both working on losing some pounds of fat too!
